* A clarification in the dAISy January 2014 for the article entitled 'Intersex women speak out to protect next generation' from Holly, "We are miss quoted in supporting the Germans legislation of 'x' 'CHOICES' (!) on birth certificates. It's far more complex of course; and although we recognise some good in the German governments acknowledgement of Intersex conditions, we feel 'x' without consent of the individual concerned on a birth cert and with no mechanism for civil equality is a poor attempt to avoid dealing with the real issues if irreversible 'treatments' enforced upon unconsenting infants, children and teens to 'normalise their bodies in the face of social discomfort. It also ignores the support and care that families need to recognise 'their' and their children's life choices and support their children's futures through understanding, peer group access and less fear mongering and more positive examples of healthy outcomes through respecting the variables in all children and human difference."
